Plateau United started their three-game home run with a hard-fought 1–0 win over Warri Wolves on Sunday at the New Jos Stadium. It was not an easy match, and the boys had to battle from the first minute to the last, but they showed character and deserved all three points.
The Peace Boys began on the front foot. Nenrot Silas and Saka Gafar linked up well on the right as Plateau United pushed Wolves back. Vincent Temitope tried an early strike, and Jonathan Okechukwu won a series of fouls in midfield that helped the team build momentum.
The breakthrough arrived in the 18th minute and it came from pressure and persistence.
Nenrot Silas drove into the box and hit a low cross that took a heavy deflection off a Warri Wolves defender, wrong-footing the goalkeeper before rolling into the net. It wasn’t the cleanest finish, but Plateau United fully earned it.
After the goal, the game turned into a real fight.

Tarabina Biweribo caused problems with his long throws. One of them dropped kindly for Vincent Temitope, whose rebound effort crashed against the crossbar inches away from doubling the lead. Warri Wolves also grew into the match, but Amah John remained calm and confident, punching away crosses and keeping the backline steady.
The second half was even more physical. Vincent’s free-kick almost forced an own goal, and Mustapha Abdullahi kept winning battles on the left. Wolves threw more men forward, but the Peace Boys stayed organised.
Around the hour mark, Coach Shola Adegun brought in Dawa Victor, Dashang Apollos, and Kazeem Adeyanju to inject fresh energy. The match heated up in the 78th minute when Vincent Temitope and Warri Wolves’ Gift David were both sent off after a heavy collision and confrontation. It became a 10-vs-10 scrap, and both teams fought for every loose ball.
Plateau United held their ground. The defence blocked shots, cleared danger, and stayed composed even as Wolves pushed hard in the final minutes. After four minutes of added time, the referee ended a match that was full of tension and effort.
The Peace Boys claimed a valuable 1–0 victory ,a win built on fight, discipline, and commitment.
