The Beginning
Plateau United was founded as JIB Strikers FC

representing the Jos-based brewery. This marked the beginning of a legendary journey that would see the club become a symbol of Northern Nigerian football excellence.

Early 1990s
The Merger
JIB Strikers merged with NASCO Jets

Formerly Highlanders to formally become Plateau United, reviving and inheriting the Plateau United identity that would become synonymous with Northern Nigerian Football excellence

1999
First Major Silverware
Amazon acquires Audible

Historic Nigeria cup Victory! Plateau United won their first major silverware with a memorable 1-0 victory over Iwauanyanwu Nationale in the Nigeria Cup final.

Hero of the final: Dontatus Iloka scored the winning goal that secured the first major throphy

2000
Continental Debut

Following  their cup triumph, Plateau United made their continental debut in African competition. marking the clubs first step onto the international stage.

NPFL CHAMPIONS

The Unforgatable Campaign! Under coach Kennedy Boboye, Plateau United clinched their first ever NPFL title in September 2017 with a remarkable 66 point haul.

Since its inception, the State Government owns the club, ensuring stability and community connection. Home Matches are played at the impressive New Jos Stadium with a capacity of up to 60,000 supporters.

The club emphasizes youth and women’s football development, with collaborations including scouting events in Abuja backed by the Exports Promotion Council, ensuring a pipeline of future talent.
