Enyimba – Seeking Redemption Under Pressure

Seven-time NPFL champions Enyimba FC arrive in Jos under pressure after a shocking 2–1 home loss to Warri Wolves last weekend, a result that ended their four-match unbeaten home run. Kanu Nwankwo’s men currently sit ninth on the table with 13 points from nine games but have struggled for consistency, particularly away from home, where they’ve failed to score in two of their last three outings.

With both sides needing a response, the People’s Elephant will look to their experienced core for leadership in what could be a tight and tactical encounter.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Head Coach Shola Adegun shared his thoughts on the team’s preparation and mindset:

“Training got better as the week progressed. We intend taking that intensity and hunger into the game. The players know they have to respond after such a result and that’s what we intend to see in the next game- an appropriate response.”

On the fitness of returning players, Adegun added:
“We have some players returning and making progress. We are still assessing where everyone is, and we will make a decision on those that can contribute.”
And looking ahead to facing Enyimba:

“Every game comes with its own challenges, and we expect a big challenge from the opponent, but we firmly believe the boys are capable of meeting the expectations of getting an important result.”
