The breakthrough came in the 15th minute. Abdallah’s pass was deflected into Vincent’s path, and the forward showed great awareness and composure, lifting a delicate chip over the advancing goalkeeper to put the Peace Boys ahead.

Rangers responded with more urgency and found an equaliser in the 28th minute, capitalising on a rare lapse in the Plateau United defence. But the hosts did not lose focus.

Just before halftime, Plateau United were awarded a penalty after Saka Gafar was brought down in the box.

Vincent stepped up and calmly sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, restoring the lead and completing his brace.

Plateau United went into the break 2–1 up, having edged a lively and open first half.

Second Half: Discipline and Game Management

Plateau United showed it. Rangers pushed forward in search of another equaliser, but the Peace Boys stayed compact, with Amah John commanding his area and the back line dealing with crosses and second balls.

Coach Gbenga Ogunbote made key substitutions to maintain energy and structure, introducing fresh legs in midfield and attack to manage Rangers’ pressure.

The midfield trio worked hard to close spaces, while wide players tracked back to support the defence.

There were moments of danger, but Plateau United limited Rangers to half-chances and managed the tempo well in the closing stages, slowing the game when needed and keeping possession in key areas.
