Plateau United returned to winning ways with a deserved 2–0 victory over Barau FC at the Jos New Stadium on Sunday afternoon .
The Peace Boys started steadily, controlling possession but were finding it difficult to break down a well-organized Barau FC defence in the first half.
There were flashes of good chances with the best of them falling to Monday Gideon whose header from a Kazeem Adeyanju’s corner narrowly missed the target. All of the missed chances ensured the first half ended goalless.
Returning from the break, Plateau United came out with greater intensity and purpose as Shola Adegun made two changes by bringing on Vincent Temitope and Mancha Sabbath for Mafeng Pam and Gideon Monday to strengthen the attack and bring some attacking freshness.
The early pressure paid off as 5 minutes after the restart, Tarabina Biweribo’s long throw was met by Jonathan Okechukwu’s flick to set up Amietimi Enewarikpemi who calmly slotted past the Barau goalkeeper for the opener.




Five minutes later, Vincent Temitope doubled the lead with a stunning curler into the top corner after a neat combination with Kazeem Adeyanju.
Barau FC tried to find a way back late in the game, but goalkeeper Favour was outstanding, making a brilliant double save in the 85th minute to secure his third clean sheet of the season.
Plateau United controlled the closing stages with confidence and composure to manage the result.
